about this product
What is Lemon Balm Tincture?
Lemon Balm Tincture is a liquid alcohol-based extract of Melissa officinalis, the lemon-scented mint in the family Lamiaceae, supplied in a 1 fl oz dropper bottle. It is prepared as a 1:12 extract in a 47.5% alcohol solution.
About the plant
Melissa officinalis takes its genus name from the Greek word for honeybee, a reference to how its nectar attracts bees. The plant has been cultivated in Mediterranean herb gardens since ancient Greek times and appears throughout medieval European herbal tradition, including the famous 17th-century "Carmelite water." Its characteristic aromatic compounds include citral, citronellal, geraniol, and rosmarinic acid.
Tincture vs. the dried herb
A tincture extracts the plant into an alcohol base, so it ships as a compact, shelf-stable liquid rather than by the ounce. For the dried leaf, see Lemon Balm, and for the ground form see Lemon Balm Powder.
Storage
Store the tincture in a cool, dry place away from direct light, tightly capped. We make no health or therapeutic claims.

By herbs I mean various medicinal and alchemical herbs - I bought some lemon balm, organic roses, and lemongrass as well and bundles white sage and white pine.
